Texas Instruments TAS6501-Q1 Audio Amplifier

Texas Instruments TAS6501-Q1 Audio Amplifier is a mono-channel, digital-input, Class-D amplifier that supports a 2MHz switching frequency. This device can assess output load conditions in PLAY mode, with or without audio, using independent real‑time diagnostics operating separately from the host and system. The TAS6501-Q1 audio amplifier operates at 4.5V to 19V supply voltage and delivers up to 15W (14.4V, 4Ω, 10% THD+N). This device monitors the output load condition while in PLAY mode, with or without audio, using real-time load diagnostics that operate independently of the host and audio input. The TAS6501-Q1 device is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications. This amplifier is ideal for Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS), Emergency call (eCall), automotive head unit, telematics control unit, and automotive cluster displays.

The TAS6501-Q1 can monitor the device's output current, PVDD voltage, and temperature, and report this data via TDM or I2S. This device is available in small pad-down TSSOP and QFN packages with wettable flanks, enabling a heatsink-free audio amplifier design.
